Sean Dawkins, who played nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL), has passed away.
The death was confirmed by Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts NFL club. Dawkins played for the Colts from 1993 to 1997.
– Rest in peace, Sean Dawkins. I am in shock and grief. My prayers and condolences to Sean’s family, Irsay wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Dawkins only lived to be 52 years old.
according to New York Post The cause of death is currently unknown.
Dawkins started his career at UCLA. Over three seasons, the paper wrote, he threw for 31 touchdowns, a College Football record.
During his career, Dawkins played for the aforementioned Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was inducted into the Cal Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
