Before Apple reveals iOS 17 and all the other new operating systems on June 5 at its WWDC developer conference, it’s already ready to talk about the new accessibility features that will be released this fall.

One of the most exciting things is that the iPhone running iOS 17 will be able to learn to recognize your voice, so it can speak like you. The feature is mostly intended for people at risk of losing the ability to vote, such as those with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
“Personal Voice is an easy and safe way to create a voice that looks like them,” Apple explains, noting that recreating the voice on an iPhone or iPad takes 15 minutes.
With Live Speech on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, users can type what they want to say and then speak it during phone and FaceTime conversations. Users can also save frequently used phrases to respond quickly during live conversations with family, friends, and colleagues. Live Speech has been developed to support millions of people. around the world who are unable to speak or who have lost their speech over time.”
There are other novelties, too, including one that improves on Apple’s apps with a much simpler interface that offers basic, click-friendly functionality:
