Apple issues warning: Check your iPhone now

To download the update, go to your Settings, where iOS 17.0.3 is now available. Once installed, your iPhone will be protected against the type of attack classified as “Zero-day.”

If you’re not familiar with the term “Zero-day,” it means that hackers are already aware of the vulnerability and can exploit it. That’s why it’s very important to install updates as soon as possible.

“Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have already been exploited against iOS versions prior to iOS 16.6,” the company said, according to The Mirror.

In addition to addressing these security issues, iOS 17.0.3 will also come as a relief for those who recently purchased a new iPhone 15.

Since the launch of this device last month, there have been a number of reports of devices overheating, which Apple later confirmed.

The tech giant has already said that it discovered a bug in iOS 17 that caused an overheating issue, and this latest update should ensure that doesn’t happen anymore.

“This update contains important bug fixes and security updates, and resolves an issue that could cause iPhone to run hotter than expected,” Apple wrote.

If you already have iOS 17 on your iPhone, it is recommended to install this update as soon as possible. It’s around 500MB, so it might be best to do the update when you’re at home and connected to Wi-Fi.

How to install iOS 17.0.3:

  • Go to the Settings app.

  • Click on General.

  • Click on Software Update.

  • Look for iOS 17.0.3.

  • Click on download and install.

Your iPhone will need to restart, so make sure you’re not in the middle of an important email or phone call before starting the process.
