Ariana Grande will play the witch in 'Wicked'

Ariana Grande (28 years old) got a completely new role – as a witch in the film version of the musical “Wicked”.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo (34) got the roles of the witches Glinda and Elfaba in the upcoming version of “Wicked”. diverse.

The musical has been an international success since it began in San Francisco in 2003. “Wicked” is a prequel to the series “The Wizard of Oz,” and tells how the Witches of Oz became as they have become.

Grande will play Galinda, who later becomes the Good Witch, while Erivo will play Elba, who later becomes The Evil Witch in the West.

After a delay due to the pandemic, director John M. Choo has been linked with the release of the movie that Universal has been planning for some time.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo revealed the news on their Instagram accounts.

Grande played a role in the TV movie “Hairspray Live” in 2016 and played a role in the star-studded upcoming movie “Don’t Look Up” with Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lawrence among others.

Erivo was nominated for two Oscars and starred in the movie “Harriet” and in the television series about Aretha Franklin: “The Genius”.

While Ariana won Grammy Awards, Cynthia brought with her Tony, Grammy, and Emmy for her role as Celie in the musical version of “Purple” that ran from 2015-2017.
