Arsenal came close – but it doesn’t have to be all negative for United
Arsenal Ladies currently sit in the poor fourth position they have ended up with United in three consecutive seasons – a position that does not provide Champions League football.
On Friday evening, Arsenal won 1-0 at home against Leicester after a goal from Frieda Leonardsen-Mannum, thus Arsenal moved closer to United and other teams.
Arsenal are now six points behind United (with one less game played, and a distinctly worse goal difference).
The fact that Arsenal are still fully involved in the battle for the top three is not necessarily stupid for United, as it could give Arsenal an even more stimulating side in the penultimate round of the series away to Chelsea.
At the same time, losing a point at Arsenal would, of course, bring United closer to qualifying for the Champions League.
United take on Tottenham on Sunday at 1.30pm (Scandinavian time), the match will be shown on V Sport 3 in Norway, and available on Viaplay across Scandinavia.

Skinner and Blundell were nominated for awards
Mark Skinner is one of four nominees for WSL Manager of the Month, while Hannah Blundell is one of six players nominated for Player of the Month.
Skinner led United to three wins in April, 4-0 away at Brighton, 1-0 at home to Arsenal and 3-2 away at Aston Villa.
Blundell’s quarterback played from the start in all of these games and, among other things, pointed out two assists in the month that was.

Hannibal with a view this year in Birmingham
Hanibag Mejbri, on loan from United, scored his first goal for Birmingham in February when he curled a free-kick against West Brom.
On Thursday evening, the goal was named Birmingham’s Goal of the Year.
Outrageous, Hannibal! 😮💨

No help from Liverpool
Manchester United’s women’s team has a chance of winning the league, but in this case Chelsea need to drop points.
On Wednesday night, it looked like United might take the lead in the battle for league gold, when Liverpool took an early lead away to Chelsea. Niamh Charles equalized for the Blues, but it took a long time before more goals came.
And in the 87th minute, the decision came from Chelsea striker Sam Kerr with a rather lucky goal, and the three points remained at Kingsmeadow.
This brings Chelsea four points behind United, with two fewer games to play. Chelsea still play Everton (H), Leicester (H), West Ham (B), Arsenal (H) and Reading (B), while United’s remaining three matches are against Tottenham (H) and Manchester City (H). and Liverpool. (B). In addition, United and Chelsea meet in the FA Cup Final on Sunday 14 May.
Allardyce the new Leeds manager
Leeds confirmed on Wednesday morning that Javi Gracia is done with the club, and round fox Sam Allardyce is the man to captain them for the last four games of the season.
The club is in danger of relegation, sitting 17th in the table where the relegation battle is very even.
‘Big Sam”s previous managerial job was also a bid to save West Bromwich Albion, but he then took over in December – and was unable to prevent relegation.
📰 #LUFC It can confirm that Javi Gracia will leave the club, with the four remaining matches we have left to be overseen by experienced coach Sam Allardyce. We thank Javi and his team for their efforts under difficult circumstances.

McLaren birthday
Steve McClaren was United’s assistant under Sir Alex Ferguson for a few years, helping, among other things, to win the treble in 1999.
Now he is an assistant under Erik ten Hag, and we hope that will also be successful.
Today, May 3, McLaren turns 62 anyway.
happy birthday!

Andre Mariner referees the first leg against Brighton
Premier League It has been confirmed that Andre Mariner will be the one to officiate the Brighton-United game on the south coast on Thursday.
The rest of Thursday’s squad consists of Dan Robatan, Natalie Aspinall and Chris Kavanagh as assistants and fourth referees, while Andy Madley and Adam Nunn control the VAR.
It will be the second time that Mariner has refereed Brighton and United this season, and both teams won one match officiated by Mariner earlier this season.
Brighton 4-1 away at Everton in January, while United won 2-1 at Crystal Palace at home in a game in which Casemiro picked up his first two red cards of the season.

City approached United
Because of United’s men’s game against Aston Villa, that didn’t show up yesterday, but Manchester City ladies moved closer to United after their 4-1 win at Reading on Sunday afternoon.
This brings Manchester City three points behind Manchester United at the top of the Women’s Premier League (WSL). Gareth Taylor’s side also have a worse goal difference, so hopefully United can finish ahead of City even if they lose in the derby in just under three weeks.
Chelsea are still favorites to win the league title, despite being seven points behind United. They have played three fewer games than United, and are very experienced in the title hunt, but any Chelsea mistake would give United a chance.
United did the job themselves on Friday night when Millie Turner decided in extra time in United’s favour, against Aston Villa.
