Utforkulen Beat Feuz (35) is in his final season as a top mountaineer.
Fuse declared it Instagram Wednesday.
Pushing boundaries and taking risks has been my passion in skiing for years. My feelings have often been the key to success. Now those feelings say physical limits have been reached, begins Fuse, before confirming that his active career as an alpine climber will end on January 21, 2023.
Then the legendary pedigree runs in Kitzbühel, which Feuz won last season. One weekend ago, there was downhill and Super G on the Fuse main track in Wengen, Switzerland.
– I am glad to finish my favorite Wengen and Kitzbuhel, Feuz writes.
– Lots of good duels. You will enjoy your latest race, Kjetil Jansrud comments – as it is Quit as an alpine climber After Kvitfjell went down in March – on Feuz’s Instagram post.
Feuz has been a leading climber for several years, winning, among other things, three Olympic and three World Cup medals.
During the Olympic Games in Beijing earlier this year, he managed to take home the Olympic gold medal in the downhill.
The Swiss also has 16 World Cup victories, and 59 World Cup podium seats. He won the Downhill Cup four times in total.
This season, Feuz hasn’t picked up the same pace as seen in previous seasons, and his fifth-place finish in the Lake Louise downhill at the end of November is the 35-year-old’s season-best.
