The left-footed Bodø/Glimt defender has seen tremendous development with the yellow outfit in recent years following his move from Sandefjord in 2020.
This season, Høibråten played in 28 Eliteserien matches and six matches in the group stage of the Europa League. The 27-year-old has been an important and enduring piece in Kjetil Knutsen’s crew.
Now foreign clubs are moving into the Glimt stopper.
Nettavisen was informed that major Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds had placed a bid for Høibråten. The Japanese are said to have bid around seven million crowns, according to the information.

No one at Bodø/Glimt was available for comment on Thursday.
Glimmt brought back Marius Laude this summer after a brief sojourn in German football. In addition, they have Brede Moe, Japhet Siri Larsen, Isak Helstad Amundsen and Sigurd Kfell at centre-back in the squad in addition to Høibråten.
Urawa Red Diamonds now want to secure a payment, but it is currently unclear if Glimt wants to sell or keep Høibråten until the end of the contract. There should also be interest in a stopper in MLS, but from Japan something concrete has come to the table.
Former Glimt striker Kasper Junker already belongs to the club. It was specifically purchased from Bodø/Glimt at its time. The Dane may be on his way to MLS’ Portland Timbers, who have made an offer for the Dane, according to several media outlets.
