Martin Odegaard (22) would be, by all accounts, the most expensive Norwegian footballer ever.
According to VG information, there has been a breakthrough in the past few hours in the negotiations between Arsenal and Real Madrid over the permanent transfer of the Norwegian midfielder.
This means that Ødegaard, unless there is an unexpected turn in the development of the case, will become the most expensive Norwegian footballer ever in a deal that will break the current record of around NOK 250 million by Sander Berg.
All details of Ødegaard’s transfer are unclear, but according to VG information, the value of the agreement will be between 35 and 40 million euros. This corresponds to between 365 and 420 million NOK.
The development in the negotiations between Arsenal and Real Madrid is so positive that the London club is now hopeful that Odegaard is already ready to play in the next Premier League match against Chelsea next Sunday.

Odegaard trained on Tuesday for himself, not with his Real Madrid teammates, pending a final clarification in Arsenal’s negotiations.
The player wants to move to the Premier League club of which he was part on loan from January to June.
Ødegaard has been part of Real Madrid since being brought over at the age of 16 from Strømsgodset in January 2015.
Since then he has been on loan to Heerenveen, Vitesse, Real Sociedad and Arsenal.
There is, of course, a lot of competition in the midfield. “I made it clear to him that there are eight very good players in this position,” Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said of Odegaard, in a press conference on Friday.
The Norwegian was not in the Real Madrid squad that Alaves met in Saturday’s opening match.
