The Champions League group draw took place tonight in Monaco. It became clear early on that Manchester City had pulled RB Leipzig out of Pot 2 while Arsenal had pulled out Sevilla from Pot 1.
This means a good draw for both teams. City also face Rod Stairne and Young Boys, while Arsenal face PSV Eindhoven and Lens.
It was more difficult for Copenhagen, who face Galatasaray, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Group of death is probably F with PSG, Newcastle, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund. In other words, no warm welcome for Newcastle.
There are still 32 teams to be divided into eight groups of four. Only in the 2024/25 season will there be 36 clubs in the Champions League group stage.
As is known, teams from the same country cannot meet in the group stage.
These are the groups:
Group A:
Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Copenhagen, Galatasaray
Group B:
Seville, Arsenal, Eindhoven, Lens
Group C:
Napoli, Real Madrid, Braga, Union Berlin
Group D:
Benfica, Inter, Red Bull Salzburg, Real Sociedad
Group E:
Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Celtic
Sixth group:
Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Milan, Newcastle
Group G:
Manchester City, Leipzig, Red Star, Young Boys
Group H:
Barcelona, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, Royal Antwerp
The first round of the Champions League will be held on September 19 and 20. The final will be held in London on June 1.
