During his multi-year career, Christopher Gunner (51) has become one of the most popular actors in Norway. Already in 1996, he got the role of Ståle Pettersen in the NRK series “Offshore”, which he held for four years.
– That time is over
He also appeared in a number of Norwegian blockbusters such as “Den siste revejakta”, “Bølgen” and “Krigsseileren”, as well as the Hollywood films “The Revenant” and “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”.
Today it's been two years since he last stood in front of the camera – and in a new interview with Here and now The 51-year-old admits it was a conscious choice. After recording the aforementioned song “Krigsseileren”, and an intense period of recording the Viaplay series “Maskineriet”, she stopped.
– exhausted
– I came home and I was 60 pounds, and my body said, “Hey, that wasn't great. Stop that.” I don't know what to call it, is it a burn or an explosion. Suddenly I wasn't quite myself anymore. So I had to try to find myself again.
Gunner is quite clear about what caused the accident, and seems to be criticizing himself for the situation he ended up in.
– The body was tired after you, idiot, had worked out too intensely for too long. I won't do it again, he admits.

New procedures
Despite the fact that the award-winning actor has been sent different scripts and offered different roles in the last couple of years, it was right for him to take a break. Being away from the profession has been good for the body.
– It took some time to get used to this quiet everyday life. It took a while to find my way back again. I received and am receiving the help I need and slowly but surely I am getting stronger.
Part of the medicine for Juner consists of daily routine, as well as the company of a new four-legged friend. The 51-year-old is hoping to see if he can get back on the horse.
It indicates that things are moving in the right direction – in May, it was reported that the actor would return with the film “The Badgers.”
