Ulrik Matthiessen (25) suffered a hamstring strain in Brann's 4-2 win over Tromsø.
Brann's coach Erik Hornlund confirms this Bergen newspaper.
Unfortunately, he will likely be out for a long time, Hornland tells the newspaper. The fire medical team will examine the injury in more detail in the coming days. It may take weeks or months on the sidelines, depending on the severity of the injury.
Matthiessen became Brann's favorite last year. It was also an annoying moment in Brann's win over Tromsø. Among other things, he collected the goal-scoring pass to Bard Finn for 2–0.

Only a quarter of an hour after scoring, and in the final minutes of the first half, Matthiessen was forced to leave due to injury.
Tromsø keeper Jacob Hougaard cleared the ball out of the way right in front of Matthiessen, but took Brann's winger with him on the same throw. Matthiessen was left lying in the grass and had to leave minutes later. He may have been injured while running for the ball.
Bergensavisen expert Jonas Gröner refers to the damage as “a mini-crisis today.”
– Let's hope it's not too bad. But it's a shame for Brann, because Matthiessen looked really energetic, Groner says.

He brought in Brann Matthiessen from Lillestrom ahead of last year's season. In the 2023 silver season, he scored two goals and made eight assists in 19 Premier League matches.
This means that Matthiessen scores one goal approximately every 100 minutes on the pitch.
Brann suffered several injuries in the pre-season. Midfielder Felix Hornmeier is also likely to be out for several months.
