Seville confirms this Twitter.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since June 30, but has now signed a two-year contract with Sevilla.

Sevilla finished 11th in La Liga last season and beat Jose Mourinho’s Roma in the Europa League final.

Niland has previously played for RB Salzburg, Reading, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Molde, among others. He has 46 caps and has been Ståle Solbakken’s most used goalkeeper since he took over as national team manager in 2020.

As far as VG knows, Nyland has had a number of shows this summer. Leipzig is among the clubs that have tried to retain the goalkeeper’s services.

Belgian club Brugge, which is coached by Ronnie Dela, is also among the clubs that have expressed interest. Molde’s former club Neyland are said to have made a permanent offer.

The goalkeeper from Orsta was Ståle Solbakken’s favorite in the national team, but the national team manager was clear he wanted a better match day for the goalkeeper.

In Germany, Neyland usually sits on the bench. He won two Bundesliga matches and one German Cup match last season.

Sevilla have just sold what was their number one goalkeeper, Youssef Bounou, to Saudi Arabia. Marko Dimitrovic is expected to move from second goalkeeper to first choice, and Niland will once again have to settle for being a second man after several minutes on the bench.
