Corona cases are on the rise in Spain – especially among young people. The popular holiday destination is now considered a risky area.
Madrid – die Corona* Numbers are rising in Spain. On Tuesday (July 13, 2021) the Ministry of Health reported nearly 44,000 new infections within 24 hours. These are the most days from February. By comparison: a similar number represents 76,000 new corona cases for Germany. Even at the height of the crisis in December, this was a value that could not be reached even remotely in this country. Health officials reported 1548 new corona infections in Germany within 24 hours on Wednesday (July 14, 2021).
Event values are more threatening than absolute statistics in Spain. The 7-day event in Spain was 258 on Tuesday. The previous day’s value was 226. This means that the main criterion for the area where most events take place is violated. It is 200. This classification should be decided explicitly by the German Ministry of Health in consultation with the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Other criteria are also taken into account. Applicable from Sunday (July 11, 2021) Corona is the most dangerous part of Spain*.
Corona event in Spain affects more than 1000 people under the age of 30
According to Spanish officials, mainly young people under the age of 30 are affected by corona. Among them, this event is more than 1000. Nowhere in Spain is the situation as severe as in Catalonia – there are 2400 adolescents between the ages of 19 and 3000 between the ages of 20 and 29.
In relation to the total population, the 7-day event in Catalonia on Tuesday was below 580. Authorities have already implemented corona restrictions to reduce the number of rapidly increasing infections. Among other things, the Barcelona government decided on Monday to close restaurants, bars, cultural and sports venues by 0.30am.
Corona crisis: Many regions in Spain impose new restrictions
Other Spanish territories have also issued restrictions. Valencia has again decided on a night curfew order. Residents in 32 communities with particularly bad corona conditions are allowed to leave their homes with good reason from 1am to 6am on Tuesdays.
Health Minister Carolina Darias was optimistic about the progress made by the vaccine, and promised that the country would soon reduce the number of re-infections. So far, 46 percent of Spaniards have been fully vaccinated. (John Went) * Provide fr.de and hna.de IPPEN.MEDIA.
