The number of coronary patients in Norwegian hospitals fell by 100 in just over a week. And optimist Espen Nakstad says it shows the measures are working.
Corona virus infection regained speed again at the beginning of December, and records were set in the number of coronary patients admitted. On Friday 17 December, 383 patients with heart disease were admitted to Norwegian hospitals.
But the number has fallen like a rock in the past week or so. On Saturday, Christmas Day, the number dropped further to 283 guests. Infection rates have also decreased significantly. This shows coronary measures are working, says Assistant Director of Health Espen Nakstad TV 2.
“I am very pleased to see the numbers are flattening after the procedures that came a few weeks ago, and we are actually seeing a decrease in the number of admissions,” says Nakstad.

The initial estimate is that it accounts for half of all hospital admissions, says Nakstad, adding that the hope is that 2022 will be the year of the pandemic.
