Apple released its best second-quarter numbers ever, but what happens to the iPad? Connectivity issues, and the tablet is far from the only thing.
Apple generated $97.3 billion in sales in the second quarter of 2022
The company’s iPhone, Mac, wearable, and service parts revenue rose, but iPad revenue rose under 2% compared to the same period last year.
Here are the numbers for each product category (all numbers were compared to the corresponding quarter for 2021):
- iPhone: $50.5 billion – up from $47.9 billion
- iPad: $7.6 billion – down from $7.8 billion
- Mac: $10.4 billion – up from $9.1 billion
- Wearables, home and accessories: $8.8 billion – up from $7.8 billion
- Services: $19.8 billion – up from $16.9 billion
Tim Cook says the reason for the weak iPad sales is down to major delivery issues (Cook: “too big supply constraints”), and rightfully so. The reason is another wave of covid lockdowns in the production country China.
Fortunately for Cook & Co. Then the iPhone stellar product does not have the same delivery problems: the Apple numbers will probably look completely different.
All Apple products have a waiting period – some until June
By looking at the Norwegian Apple Store online it can’t be new iPad Air With the M1, neither 64GB nor 256GB models will be available before May 16-23.
How about a more established product like iPad Pro? One iPad Pro 11 With 128GB of storage, it can be delivered from May 5 to May 9, so there’s some back work on it as well. iPad Pro 12.9 is taking longer to get home: The 128GB model could be delivered between May 9-16.
iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. 128GB can be connected on May 2, so you won’t have any problems with these. also iPhone mini Which “nobody” wants have the same delivery date. The same applies to iPhone 13 and new iPhone SE. also 3rd Generation AirPods May 2 as the delivery date.
Apple Watch Series 7 Delivery is also very slow: the 41 and 45mm “Aluminum Watch Case with Star Leather and Braided Solo Loop” model cannot be delivered until between June 9 and June 16.
iMac 24 Can be delivered in early May regardless of configuration.
Even worse is the case with Apple, which has been talked about a lot in the past studio view. The most expensive model with the simplest stand cannot be delivered for up to eight to ten weeks.
MacBook Air Then? Should it be as easy to get as it has been in the market for so long? No: Both models cannot be delivered before June 16th to June 29th. MacBook Pro 13 with M1 It can be delivered on May 2nd with standard hardware.
