Novak Djokovic was named Sportsman of the Year at the Laureus Sports Awards. This is the fifth time he has won the award.

The tennis player has 24 Grand Slam titles throughout his career. Three of them came in last year's season.
Haaland and Hovland nominated
He competed against Armand Duplantis, Noah Lyles, Lionel Messi, Max Verstappen and Erling Braut Haaland.
Haaland has been a key contributor to Manchester City, who last year won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. He has won a number of awards for this, including the Globe Soccer Awards in January.
In the past, athletes such as Lionel Messi, Usain Bolt, Tiger Woods and Roger Federer have won the award. The latter won it five times in his career.
Manchester City were also nominated for Team of the Year, along with Viktor Hovland's Ryder Cup team, among others. There, the Spanish women's national team, which finished first in the World Cup, won the award.
Starry night
The awards ceremony was attended by many big stars, including Bolt, Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal and Jude Bellingham. The latest Water Award for Breakthrough of the Year.
Football star Aitana Bonmati won the Female Athlete of the Year award.
The Laureus Sports Awards are referred to as the Oscars of sports.
