Dolly Parton fans who fear the 77-year-old will quietly retire and rest on her laurels can breathe a sigh of relief.

The artist, who wrote, among other things, the classic “I Will Always Love You,” explained in an interview with Greatest Hits Radio that retirement is not for her.

– I will never retire. I just wish I could drop dead on stage in the middle of a song one day. I wish it was during a song I wrote myself, says Parton.

– This is how I wish to spend the evening, because I have no other choice, you say.

And it’s not just on stage where fans can continue to enjoy Dolly Parton. She is currently working on a new album, this time in the rock genre, called “Rockstar”. It is scheduled to be released on November 17.

It featured a wide range of guest artists on the album, including Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran and Rob Halford of metal band Judas Priest.
