Donald Trump – mocking strange attacks

NEW YORK (Dagbladet): On Saturday night, Trump held one of his usual rallies in Georgia. Here he repeated, among other things, completely undocumented allegations that the elections had been stolen from him. During his speech, he also showed a manipulated photo, which combined Liz Cheney and former President George W. Bush as one person.

On Sunday, Congressman Cheney will respond Twitter.

strikes back

“I love Republican presidents who win elections,” Cheney wrote, accompanied by a photo of former Republican President George W. Bush.

Bush won re-election in 2004 when he defeated Democratic candidate John Kerry. Dick Cheney’s father, Dick Cheney, was Vice President of Bush.

The manipulated image was originally sent Thursday by the Save America Political Action Committee, which supports Trump. Titled: “ICYMI: The Must-See Pictures”.

However, Trump himself was unable to post the photo on Twitter. He writes this because he was banned from his previous favorite platform after the deadly attack on Congress on January 6 Watchman.

The deadly attack occurred when Congress was to ratify Joe Biden as President of the United States 14 days later. Trump has yet to concede defeat despite an almost endless series of recounts and court rounds.

grouchy

Before the deadly attack on January 6, Trump gave a speech to his provocateur supporters. There he asked his supporters to march to Congress and “fight like hell” to nullify the election result. Five people were killed in the attack, and so far more than 650 people are accused of taking part.

Cheney was one of ten House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump over the attack. Since then, Trump has been angry with her, and she has been forced out of the GOP leadership.

Trump is also trying to support a Republican candidate to defeat her in the Wyoming congressional elections.

flirting with re-election

Trump has become the only US president to face impeachment twice. However, he was not convicted because only seven Republicans in the Senate voted with Democrats to convict him. Thus, he remains free to run for re-election again in 2024.

Trump himself continues to flirt with this idea. Previously, only one US president, Grover Cleveland, was re-elected, having lost his first re-election bid. It happened in the eighties of the nineteenth century.

However, Trump still has a firm grip on the party. He and the organizations around him are already running a massive campaign to gather support from supporters ahead of a possible election campaign. The manipulated image of Cheney and Bush came in an email with a link that campaign supporters can donate.

Dangerous moment

Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are now Republican members of the House committee investigating the attack on Congress. On Thursday last week, they sent summons to people in Trump’s circle to get them to appear as witnesses. These include Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino and former strategist Steve Bannon.

On Sunday evening, US time, Cheney gave an important interview with the well-known news program “60 minutes” at CBS.

Silence helps the liar and spreads misinformation. I will not accept that we live in a post-truth world. It’s poison in our political bloodstream, Cheney says, as to why she continues to protest loudly about Trump’s false allegations of election fraud.

She is deeply concerned that allegations of electoral fraud continue without any documentation, and after countless reports and tours of the court system.

– It undermines our system. And Cheney says in the interview that it’s a really dangerous and dangerous moment because of that.
