Duchess Meghan, 42, was said to be devastated when she was not asked to appear on the cover of Vogue's March issue. 40 strong, beautiful women feature in the latest cover by editor Edward Enninful (51).
The Duchess of Sussex was absent from the dazzling photo session that included 40 of the most famous models and stars in the world.
Surprisingly, Megan was not involved, even though she knows editor Enninful well.
The editor and the Duchess became friends when she was guest editor for a September 2019 issue of Vogue.
Meghan's friends – such as Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams and Jameela Jamil – were invited to the historic photo. They sit with a number of famous names, such as Naomi Campbell, Victoria Beckham, Cindy Crawford, Jane Fonda, Miley Cyrus and Kate Moss.
– This is very painful
Keen readers noticed that the Duchess was missing, with one commenting:
– Meghan was not on the cover of Vogue. Her issue of the magazine was about strong and inspiring women around the world. Eight of these women are already featured on this new cover. But not Meghan.
Another reader commented:
– Vogue clearly states that everyone invited before the show.
Vogue itself writes on X:
– After six and a half years and 153 covers, see #EdwardEnninful's final issue of #BritishVogue. When the idea for the cover came up, there was only one question: Would 40 of the most booked and inspiring women on Earth come into a studio in Manhattan, one day in December? SPOILER: Yes, here they come, who could gather 40 of the biggest talents in fashion, Hollywood and glamor in one room, but Edward?
Rejection: Had to stay in a hotel
Enninful previously spoke out against Harry and Meghan following their famous interview with Oprah in 2021.
Now fans are shocked by her absence from the editor's latest cover.
However, royal biographer Tom Power previously claimed in his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War at Windsor that Meghan and Enninful had an argument when she was working on the September 2019 issue of Vogue.
Staff are said to have felt “quiet desperation” over Meghan's many demands. It was claimed that the Duchess suggested bad ideas and that she was opposed to conflicting proposals.
Power also wrote that Enninful and Meghan argued over how to market the case, with the former actress wanting excerpts of it leaked online before publication, while the editor believed secrecy was best.
Recently, it was hinted that the Duchess might be difficult to work with.
The head of the television and film company, Archewell Productions, has resigned after less than two years on the job. Bennett Levin was behind the failed Netflix documentary series “Harry and Meghan” before his resignation.
Threatened by a wave of thefts
Vogue's disappointment comes as Meghan and Harry prepare for a big joint appearance next week.
Prince Harry reportedly traveled to London this week to meet his cancer-stricken father, while Meghan stayed in California with her two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Prince Harry had a 30-minute conversation with King Charles on Tuesday. This was the first time the two met in private since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

Next week, Meghan and Harry will attend a three-day event close to their hearts. The Duke and Duchess will spend Valentine's Day in Canada to take part in the year-long celebration ahead of the Invictus Games in 2025.
The Games will be held from February 8 to 16, 2025, and will be the first winter sporting event in Invictus' history. Invictus is sports for war wounded, the brand of Harry's heart.
