Electric car charging: – New step: Polestar is integrating Tesla chargers into its app

(Elbil24): Polestar and Plugsurfing have launched a new public charging service in Europe. The service is called Polestar Charge and gives Polestar owners access to more than 650,000 charging stations.

The most interesting thing about the new charging service is that Polestar will be the first car manufacturer in Europe to integrate the Tesla Supercharging network into its own app.

In a press release, the Swedish-Chinese Polestar company wrote that Polestar Charge will give Polestar owners access to Europe's largest charging networks in the same charging service. That's why Tesla is involved too.

Additionally, Polestar Charge offers access to Recharge, Ionity, Allego, Total and Fastned chargers.

This is what it looked like when Tesla first opened its charging network to other car brands:

30 percent discount

Polestar owners are also offered an optional monthly subscription. It will cost NOK 165, but will give a 30 percent discount on more than 28,000 charging stations.

Polestar Charge will be available to Polestar owners in Norway and the following countries in Europe; Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

-We know that an important part of owning an electric car is ease of charging. With access to Europe's largest networks and intelligent integration into Google Maps, we've made it easier for Polestar owners to enjoy life with an electric vehicle rather than worry about where they'll find the next charging station, says Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath in the press release.

Norwegian prices are clear

New models

The Polestar Charge project comes at an opportune time for the automaker, which is currently working on releasing two new models.

Polestar 3 and 4 are quickly approaching and will be very interesting acquaintances for Norwegian customers, among others.

Both models are classified as SUVs, but the Polestar 4 has a sloping roofline. Here, Polestar has also removed the rear window. The Polestar 3 will be the largest of the new arrivals.
