At the same time as a number of their senior players have fled to warmer climes for a well-deserved retirement after the end of the season, Burnley have already begun their pre-season. It was more than two months before the season actually started in August.
On Monday, the club published a video clip from the training ground, where it wrote, “The first day of the preparatory season,” in the presence of both players and coaches.
Burnley have recently moved out of the Championship, which is the second tier in England. The team was last in the Premier League in the 2021/22 season and now looks set to stay at the top level. The record-breaking debut was noticed among the crowd.
Someone asks in the comments section on Twitter “Did the players manage to relax?”.
“What do you mean pre-season? The season just ended,” writes another.

It was Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton who were promoted after the end of the season.
