(Netherlands-Denmark 4-2) Many were horrified when Christian Eriksen (30) suffered a heart attack in Park during this summer’s European Championships. On Saturday evening, he returned to the national team and scored two minutes later.
“Christian Eriksen’s story is getting crazier, with each passing day,” Berlingsky Tidende wrote.
The midfielder was substituted on his international debut after a dramatic summer evening in Copenhagen last summer. The No.10 Denmark was hailed by the players, coaches and fans.
1 minute 55 seconds, Eriksen beautifully reduced to 2-3 by pressing the ball into the crossbar from 13 to 14 metres. It happened from his first touch.
– It was “just fine”, I did. I know the stadium very well, so I know very well where it will be located, says Eriksen with a smile on Channel 5.
“It’s almost unbelievable,” writes the Danish Ekstra Bladet.
Eriksen equaled Michael Laudrup, the best footballer in the country’s history, with 37 goals for Denmark.
It is clear and distinctive that Eriksen’s qualities speak for themselves, Pierre-Emily Hojberg tells Channel 5.
– I am happy in the name of Christians and the team is back.
According to Dutch newspaper NOS, Dutch fans have never before applauded so warmly over a goal against their team.
Later in the match, Eriksen hit the post with a long shot from 20 metres.
In the 70th minute, Steven Bergwijn set 4-2 for the Netherlands with a great finishing touch. It was also the end result.
In the second half, the Netherlands advanced 3-1 after goals by Steven Bergwijn, Nathan Ake and Memphis Depay (penalty kick). Yannick Westergaard scored Denmark’s goal when they drew 1-1.
Prior to the national team rally, he contracted Corona, but the 30-year-old was able to prepare to play in the Amsterdam settlement at his old stadium since his time at Ajax.
The comeback came 287 days after the agonizing moment on his lawn turf during the European Football Championship. Just before the end of the match against Finland, Eriksen collapsed Cardiac arrest in court. His life was saved through urgent medical attention.
A few days later, he underwent heart surgery and was discharged from Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.
Christian Eriksen signed this winter with English club Brentford, and has made three appearances since the start and one innings so far this season.
