Erling Braut Haaland and Martin Odegaard will both be given central roles when the Norwegian men's national team take on Kosovo and Denmark in special international matches next week.
The short version
- Erling Braut Haaland and Martin Odegaard will start the special international matches against Kosovo and Denmark, this was confirmed by Stahl Solbakken.
- Alexander Sorloth is injured and Eric Bothem replaces him.
- The matches will be held in Ulleval on June 5 and in Brondby on June 8.
This was confirmed by Ståle Solbakken on Saturday.
– They start both matches. He said in his press conference: “We will try to take one or two more steps in this group, and after that they are important pieces.”
Both Haaland and Odegaard have had busy seasons with Manchester City and Arsenal respectively. The former played in the FA Cup Final as recently as last weekend.
Many prominent figures in the national team, including Julian Ryerson, went on to join the team.
– Not everyone has arrived, but tomorrow everyone will be here. Solbakin said the couple would arrive by plane this evening.
Eric Bothem was called up as a substitute when Villarreal striker Alexander Sorloth was absent due to injury. National team manager Solbakken said on Saturday that he had not had time to get to know the Malmo striker, but he still made a joking comment.
I previously talked about how there is very good harmony in the team.
– That's why we bring it, to get less harmony. He could make a little noise, Sulbakin smiled.
The Norwegian men's national team hosts Kosovo in an international match at Ulleval Stadium on June 5, before Denmark awaits in Brondby three days later.
