Erling Braut Haaland may be ready to play in the titanic Premier League clash against Liverpool on Saturday, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said.

The Norwegian striker has suffered an injury, but should be on his way to recovery, according to the City manager. Among other things, the striker missed the international match against Scotland due to injury problems.

– Haaland trained

Guardiola spoke about Haaland in a press conference regarding the big match on Friday afternoon.

-He trained yesterday with some discomfort, and we are training today as well. Hopefully he will be part of that (training), City coach Pep Guardiola said in the press conference before Saturday’s match.

There are still question marks surrounding many City players before the match. Besides Haaland, goalkeeper Ederson, Nathan Ake and Sergio Gomez are important for the match after injury.

-We have some problems, like other clubs. We’ll see in training, we’ll see tomorrow. “At six o’clock in the evening I know for sure who is available to me tomorrow,” Guardiola said.

Bragging about Liverpool

The Spanish coach also expressed his admiration for Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp in the press conference.

– Makes me a better manager. Through his squads, the transfers, the back room they create, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah. Guardiola says: There is no doubt that they are a great team.

– Liverpool have always been our biggest rivals (during Guardiola’s time at the club, editor’s note). We are good friends. Time is running. Liverpool is not the same team it was eight years ago. There are similarities, but Trent Alexander-Arnold can play as a midfielder now. There are still a lot of the same ideas. “It’s a great team and a great club and I’m looking forward to it,” says the City manager.
