In recent weeks, influencer Evelyn Carlsen (30 years old) has traveled to New York, USA.
– Now I’m in New York. It’s kind of a job, but any job is a secret at the moment. It must also be said that there is a bit of fun in flight as well. Fortunately, both are easy to combine for me, Carlsen told Se og Hør earlier this week about the trip.
– It has no safety net
The influencer is now back on Norwegian soil, but he got a big surprise as a result of his trip to the USA.
“Hi! You have exceeded this month’s NOK 149,700 limit for data usage abroad. Further use is blocked until the end of the month,” says a message to Karlsen from Telenor.
I shared it in an Instagram story post on Tuesday night.
Under the message, she wrote “I hope this is Telenor crap?”
– I automatically got nervous when I saw the letter, Carlsen tells Se og Hør, and adds:
– But I know I didn’t spend NOK 150,000 in mobile data on a trip.
Warnings: – Hell
Carlsen says she bought 3 mobile data packages while in New York – at NOK 500 per package.
And so the influencer tried to contact Telenor customer service, which was closed for the evening.
After the initial shock has subsided, Carlsen tells Se og Hør that she now realizes that this is “obviously a mistake” and that the whole thing “is most likely a fraudulent report”.
Abuse in advertising
After Karlsen shared the post on Instagram, several of her followers also contacted her to say that they too had been subjected to the same scam message.
The influencer says she will not take the issue any further with Telenor.
