110 Central reported on Saturday afternoon that a house in Sjøholt in Møre og Romsdal had a complete over-ignition.
On Saturday evening, the fire department gave up trying to save the house and the two occupants quickly left.
– It was fully engulfed in flames when the police and firemen arrived. They now have control over the house and plants, and there will be a controlled burn in the house, says Ewa Welle, Operations Manager at Møre og Romsdal Police District.
He says the two who were at home are now receiving help from the local health service.
Can move backwards
Nearby neighbors had to be evacuated when the flames were at their worst, but they can now go back in after the fire brigade washed down the walls.
The house is located in a residential area, in the center of Sjoholt in Ålesund municipality. Police said there was no danger to the block of flats behind the detached house.
The cause is still unknown
The two who came out of the house are said to be in their 20s and the police will investigate them.
Welle, head of operations, says the cause is currently unknown.
– He says that we are now carrying out investigative activities like an investigation to find out the cause of the fire.
