Chelsea coach Frank Lampard (44) said team morale was a clear problem ahead of the match against Arsenal and Martin Odegaard on Tuesday.
“Self-confidence is low and our performance is poor,” caretaker manager Frank Lampard said in a press conference on Monday.
After Lampard took over for Graham Potter, things didn’t go any better for the London club. Chelsea have gone five defeats in five matches under Lampard.
– I’ve been here during periods when self-confidence was low. History has shown that we have earned it back through hard work and the skill level of the team. We have changed managers often.
– You shouldn’t talk about self-confidence within the team, but it’s clearly a problem at the moment, says Lampard.
Chelsea have 39 points from 32 Premier League matches. The distance to Manchester City, the league leader, is 37 points, while there is a ten-point difference from the relegation lead.
