Fujifilm X100VI Black 40MP X-Trans CMOS 5 APS-C, X 5 Processor

Fujifilm X100VI Black 40MP X-Trans CMOS 5 APS-C, X 5 Processor

Fujifilm X100VI It is the sixth generation of the X100 series, since its launch in 2011. Since then, the X100 series has created a unique niche among photographers, and has been praised by users around the world for its compact and sophisticated design, intuitive operation, outstanding image quality, and unique color rendering. It has a new 40.2MP image sensor, X-5 processor for the best image quality and fastest autofocus in the history of the X100 series. In addition, the camera becomes the first in the series to have a five-axis image stabilization system (IBIS), which is integrated into a fixed volume, compensating up to six stops. The X100VI combines unique design and handling with great features and outstanding image quality. This, combined with Fujifilm's legendary color reproduction technology, is the thing that makes it the perfect companion for both professional photographers and creative enthusiasts in a variety of photography genres.

High-resolution image sensor and impressive autofocus
The new 40.2MP back-illuminated X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR sensor and fast X-Processor 5 give the new X100VI the highest image quality ever. The new image sensor has a new pixel structure to let in more light efficiently, allowing ISO125 as the default sensitivity. Exposure time also allows for greater precision control, compared to previous models, improving the fastest electronic shutter speed by 2.5 stops from the previous 1/32,000 to 1/180,000. This gives users the ability to shoot at maximum aperture, even in very bright shooting conditions.

Just like its predecessor, the X100VI has a fixed lens with a focal length of 23mm (35mm equivalent) with a maximum aperture of f/2, a built-in ND filter (four steps), as well as a central shutter. The lens has a structure consisting of two aspherical lens elements for high resolution and reduced distortion.

The X100VI features 20 of Fujifilm's popular film simulation modes, including a new “REALA ACE” mode that delivers images with a wide range of distinct colors. REALA ACE provides realistic color reproduction and high tone, making it suitable for many different subjects and situations. Film simulation builds on Fujifilm's 90-year heritage and expertise in developing photographic films, and has been an important part of the enormous popularity of the X100 series. The X100VI supports the HEIF image format which delivers 10-bit image quality in multiple files that are up to 30% smaller than standard JPEG files, and combined with some of Fujifilm's much-loved film simulations, it increases the ability to deliver high-quality images straight from the camera.

The X-5 processor features twice the processing speed of the previous generation, and a new subject recognition function for the camera's autofocus, developed using deep learning AI technology that finds and stores your subjects in a very impressive way. It automatically detects and stores not only faces and eyes, but also animals, birds, cars, bicycles, planes and trains.

Impressive stabilization and 6K video recording
The X100VI is the first camera in the X100 series to feature Integrated Image Stabilization (IBIS), which is impressively combined with a slight increase in size and weight. Five-axis image stabilization compensates up to six stops at slower shutter speeds, using image information to detect camera shake. This provides better conditions, for example, for mobile video recording and low-light photography.

In the same way as previous models in the series, the X100VI has an advanced hybrid viewfinder where it can be switched between the optical viewfinder, which provides a stable image of the subject without time delays, and the electronic viewfinder, which provides better control over exposure and colors during shooting. Just as before, the optical viewfinder provides a parallax-corrected image frame that covers 95% of the final image. The hybrid viewfinder uses an OLED panel with high resolution (3,690,000 dots), brightness and contrast to bring out plenty of detail in the dark and bright parts of the image. With the “Electronic Measurement Finder” function, a small window appears in the lower corner of the optical finder, where it is possible to control e.g. Exposure, zoom in the focus area and display the last image taken at the time of shooting.

The camera's high-resolution image sensor and new processor enable internal 4:2:2 10-bit video recording at 6K/30P and 4K/60P, with support for different codecs (H.264 and H.265). The X100VI has a 4K HQ mode where very high detail richness is achieved through 6K oversampling. A new subject tracking AF mode has been added, where the user can point to the screen to select a subject to be tracked while shooting in AF-C + Wide / Tracking AF mode. This makes it very easy to track the correct subject in situations where there are multiple subjects in the image.

Stylish handling and weather protection accessories
Just like its predecessor, the X100V, the new FUJIFILM X100VI has an aluminum top and bottom plate, which has been treated with a special surface coating (alumite) for a smooth finish. Combined with the AR-X100 adapter ring and protective filter (PRF-49), the X100VI is weatherproof.

Improvements have been made to the camera grip to ensure just the right feel, and the buttons on the back of the camera have been relocated for easier right-handed access. The camera's rear LCD screen is tiltable, without compromising on the camera's size and design.

The X100VI supports the “Frame.io Camera to Cloud” cloud service so that video and photo files can be uploaded directly to Frame.io without the need for additional accessories, greatly simplifying the workflow from shooting to editing.
