On Friday night, Fulham took over Rotherham United at Craven Cottage, after Bobby Decordova-Reid scored in the 24th minute.
Before the match, there was speculation that the home team would rotate the squad and keep an eye on Liverpool, considering Rotherham sit bottom of the Championship with 18 points from 26 games.
– Tomorrow there will be a match in the FA Cup, and it is natural that we take this competition seriously as well. “We showed last season how important this tournament is for us,” Marco Silva said when he met the press on Thursday.
– We are proud to be competing in this tournament, and it is absolutely certain that the eleven teams that start tomorrow have the desire to advance in the tournament.
Meet Liverpool in the League Cup
The FA Cup went well last year and Fulham reached the quarter-finals, where they lost to Manchester United (1-3). However, it's hard to ignore how close they came to reaching the cup final in the League Cup.

Otherwise, Nigerian duo Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi traveled to the Africa Cup of Nations. They both started against Arsenal. Foday Balou Toure is also with Senegal.
The other Friday matches in the third round ended as follows:
Brentford – Wolverhampton 1-1 (Neal Maupay, Thomas Doyle).
Tottenham – Burnley 1-0 (Pedro Boro).
