Halvor Egner Granerud (27) did not reach the final in Poland's Wisła on Sunday. This is the third time this winter that he has been expelled.
The race is still on
A year ago, Granerud was the best ski jumper in the world. This winter has been a major downfall.
Also in the show jumping races in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Granerud missed out on making the top 30 and going into the final round.
He excelled in Hoboken, but on Sunday came another disappointment. It was 42nd – third last out of 44 with recorded scores.
“Unfortunately deflation,” says Viaplay expert Anders Jacobsen.
“He's a giant at jumping,” says Jacobsen.
-I went straight down. Both sleds dropped. It's crazy, but that's what it can be like on days like today, Granerud tells Viaplay.
– Andreas Sternen says in Wisła that Granerud was not lucky with the circumstances.
Halvor Aegner Granerud says there have been positive individual jumps, but he is looking forward to hitting another hill – in a different style.
The Norwegian team with Halvor Egner Granerud and Johan Andre Forfang finished fourth on Saturday in the super team competition in Wisła. Andreas Wellinger flew to a new land record with a distance of 144.5 metres.
Note: Robin Pedersen won the Continental Race on Sunday in Innsbruck – as he did on Saturday. Robert Johansson finished in 40th place.
