The build-up to this year’s season has been challenging, and participant Håvard Skille Midtgård (23 years old) has been at the center of a number of mishaps and has become known as a true accident bird and set a new record for the number of injuries and accidents.
“It’s always nice to break records, but maybe it’s not this ‘idiot record’ that you should brag about too much. I’ve always been a bit reckless, but in recent years even ‘Summerhita’ there have been a few injuries and accidents. It’s been worse,” says Havard. when i was younger.

Havard witnessed a number of mishaps, including slashing his finger with a circular saw, and falling from scaffolding and rolling ladders. These incidents prompted him to set a new record for the number of injuries and accidents in the program.
He takes it all in with a smile and looks back on the “Sommerhytta” project as a fun and educational experience.

Production at TV2 has learned from these incidents and is working to improve safety in future seasons.

We don’t have a complete overview of all the minor incidents throughout the seasons, but it’s true that Havard was the ‘unlucky bird’ in Season 7. The production keeps a report when major incidents occur, and makes weekly HSE plans. Scaffolding and ladder incidents are experiences taken in consideration in further HSE work to avoid similar incidents in the future,” says press director Jan-Peter Dahl TV2.
