(GD)As a result of the large influx of patients and capacity challenges, the hospital in Lillehammer raised the emergency level to green, Sykehuset Innlandet wrote in a press release.
New patients from Ringsaker Nord are being admitted to the hospital in Gjovik as a result of the new emergency level. Patients from Nord-Gudbrandsdal will be admitted to Tynset.
Moreover, it is stated that there will be a dialogue with all hospitals in Inlandet in order to make use of the available capacities in the best possible way.
– We have chosen to raise the level of readiness, as there have been several circumstances in recent days that have made operations demanding. In addition to the large influx of patients, we have a large number of patients who are ready to be discharged and waiting for the municipal health service. The only inpatient medical ward has also been closed to new patients since Saturday 27 May as a result of the infectious disease norovirus, says department director Kari Mette-Vica.

A green emergency involves a situation that cannot be dealt with within normal operations. Emergency management is established if the situation persists, and certain functions can be enhanced.
On Saturday, Inlandet Hospital reported that an outbreak of the infectious infectious disease (norovirus) had been detected in a bedside medical center at a hospital in Lillehammer.
A curfew has been imposed in the respective district. The inpatient unit has also been closed to receive new patients.
To date, norovirus has been detected in some individual patients. They have been isolated and the situation is under control. We have good routines in place to limit the spread of infection and take care of all patients in the best possible way when such situations arise,” said Inlandet Hospital Press Officer Line Vogelhaug.
