Victor Hovland shot up the leaderboards when he hit four shot-to-par in his third round of the PGA Championship in Texas.
Thus, the Norwegian rose to tenth place temporarily, five shots below par.
Hovland, on the other hand, had nothing but a dream start to the championship, as he was tied for 68th going into Saturday’s Tour, one shot below par.
However, the Ekeberg boy brought it up brilliantly with six birdies and two bogeys on his third run. And so, with a good final run on Sunday, he could work his way up to the number one spot.
Henry Hall leads the tournament with a 12-under-par average, but is just starting his third run. Argentine Emiliano Grillo is one stroke behind in second.
Hovland is in sixth place in the world ranking. This past weekend he finished second in the PGA Championship. It is Hovland’s best-ever placement in a major tournament and has earned him over NOK 16 million in prize money.
