Reaper is great in the jumping section in Holmenkollen
Jarl Magnus Reber was in a class of his own at the combined show jumping in Holmenkollen on Saturday morning. He comes out 1.18 minutes ahead of the nearest competitor.
-It was incredibly delicious. I thought a lot after yesterday's training and the provocative session. Now I felt like I had more control over what I was doing, and then I was the boss on the hill instead of the hill being the boss above me,” Reber tells NRK.
Reber jumped 135 meters at his home in the Norwegian capital, and he was the only one to exceed 130 metres.
– would discourage most people, says his colleague Jürgen Grabac to NRK about the remarkable Reaper.
Once again, Grabac clearly expressed his desire to see Reaper test himself against the special jumpers in Holmenkollen.
– I think he's right up there. They're just words until something is done about it, then we'll see if he takes up the challenge and shows that this is a fact. If not, I'll be standing here looking like a clown with it in his mouth, Grabac says.
“Yes, maybe I should join,” Reaper answers sarcastically.
Before the cross-country section at 14:00, Reber is 1 minute and 18 seconds ahead of Austria's Johannes Lamberter. Compatriot Franz Gosset-Riehrl followed six seconds behind again.
The Norwegian trio of Espen Bjornstad, Simen Teller and Grabac emerge as numbers 8, 9 and 10, almost two minutes behind Reber.
Jens Luraas Oftebro, Kasper Moen Flatla and Marius Solvik start more than three minutes behind. Espen Andersen, Jurgen Birgitte Storsveen and Jens Dalsidi Kvamme are all lagging behind.
Andreas Skogland finished 14th, but was hit by a jumpsuit after climbing 122 metres.
