ID.BUZZ – Now with all-wheel drive and 1,800 kg on the hook

Now you can order the Buzz Cargo ID with 4WD and improved trailer weight.

In 2023, the electric van became the best-selling commercial vehicle under 3.5 tonnes for the first time, with the Volkswagen ID. Buzz for Cargo. A total of 3,407 vehicles were registered in 2023, and so far around 6,700 of the popular van model have been registered in Norway.

But for those who rely on all-wheel drive, the wait has been endlessly long.

Sales of the upgraded ID have recently begun. The Buzz Cargo comes with a larger battery and a more powerful motor, increasing power from 204 to 286 horsepower for the two-wheel-drive model.

Today finally opens for pre-orders for the Buzz Cargo 4MOTION, which means the vehicle will now also be available with four-wheel drive.

Better Grip: The ID. Buzz without all-wheel drive was a challenge on smooth roads, especially when towing a heavy trailer. Now with all-wheel drive, the ID. Buzz tows heavy and safe all year round.

More power and increased trailer weight

ID price. The Buzz Cargo 4MOTION with all-wheel drive starts at NOK 588,720 ex. VAT, delivered in Oslo. That's only about NOK 20,000 more than the two-wheel drive version.

ID Card. The Buzz Cargo 4MOTION comes with a power of up to 340 hp and a torque of 550 Nm.

Those who need to tow hard will benefit from the increased torque. Here, the capacity is significantly increased. The rear-wheel drive trailer weighs just one ton, and the four-wheel drive can tow up to 1.8 tons.

That means preheating the 79 kWh (net) battery is welcome. With a faster charging speed of up to 185 kW, the car charges from 10 to 80 percent in around 26 minutes, under ideal conditions.

The level of standard equipment has also been increased compared to the previous model, and among other things, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and lane keeping assist are now installed.

There is also a Driver Assistance Package, which includes, among other things, Blind Spot Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Exit Warning. The car can also be equipped with a heat pump as an option.
