CALIFORNIA (VG): Police in Los Angeles are investigating whether an Instagram post by PnB Rock could have caused the killer to appear shortly after it was posted and the rapper was killed.
Along with his girlfriend, he shared a meal at Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles on Monday. Here the perpetrator appeared and demanded jewelry and other valuables from the artist, before the shooting, as police chief Michel Moore explained to the Los Angeles Times.
He explained that the rapper was attacked shortly after referring to him on social media as a guest at the restaurant. They are now investigating whether this has anything to do with the perpetrator’s appearance.
His girlfriend is said to have tagged him in a photo on Instagram, which has now been removed.
Transfer to hospital
Police said BNP Rock, whose real name is Rakim Allen, was shot shortly after the thief tried to steal valuables he was wearing.
— He shot the victim and walked out of a side door to the parking lot, police officer Kelly Muniz explained on Monday.
She said Allen was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead there at 1:59 p.m. (US time), about an hour after the accident.
According to witnesses the Los Angeles Times spoke with, police are working to obtain surveillance video from the restaurant, offices, and nearby businesses.
They have not yet released more information about the perpetrator.
