According to Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that talks with Ukraine will continue online.

He was also reported to have said he hoped the talks with the neighboring country would yield positive results.

He did this during a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Moscow.

However, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Tuesday that he had yet to see any indications that Putin was serious about meaningful talks with Ukraine.

Putin also described the situation in Mariupol as difficult and said that the outcome could end tragically.

He believes the army should allow civilians to leave the besieged city.
