AS Roma (VG) Bodo/Glimt insulted Roma led by Jose Mourinho at Aspmera. He does not think about revenge before the rematch at the Olympic Stadium.
After the press director of Rome did not leave the Norwegian press at the official press conference, the Portuguese director lined up for a joint session at the training facility in Rome – a remote area about half an hour from both the city center and Rome’s main square, Stadio Olimipico.
Along with Dagbladet, TV 2, Avisa Nordland, NRK and Aftenposten, VG met the Roma manager in a great mood. Obviously, he’s been following what Bodø/Glimt did on the local series since last time.
– They are very good. They were very good for us, had a bit of a “hangover” after the game against us and lost two points. Then they won the important match against Molde, so the job is done for them, which is no surprise to me. Mourinho says they are a good team.
Do you think they will win the league?
– Yes. job done. They won.
The job was certainly done as well against Roma at Aspmyra as Glimt won 6-1 over two weeks ago. It was the first time in Mourinho’s career as a coach that his team conceded six goals. The Roma coach was asked what it would be like with his superiors back at home.
– Usually. I don’t think there is room in football and in life for revenge. Revenge then what? A game we lost a lot? This is not about revenge. Mourinho says it’s a new game against a very good team, but we know we can win against them, and adds:
– As I said at the press conference, we were afraid of everything in the first match. Not the result, but the harsh industrial pitch, the cold, the injuries and tired bodies. But we were not afraid of Budo. This time we know we are playing against a good team. We will be different in this match, says the Portuguese.
How different Rome will look remains to be seen.
Tammy Abraham, who played the last half hour at Bodo without hitting the ball into the net, is one of the players Mourinho could pick at the start on Thursday.
Football has good and bad days. One learns a lot about oneself and the team on bad days. This is a golden opportunity for me to showcase our qualities, our leadership and help the team,” Abraham said at the press conference on Wednesday.
– The way we lost last time wasn’t right. So we have to put it in place on Thursday. It’s a good team, but so are we. It will be a good match tomorrow. We will do our best to win the battle, we must.
