A massive search is currently underway in Sydney, Australia, after TV presenter Jesse Bird (26) and his girlfriend showed no signs of life since Monday.
The risks of 30 years in prison
Police opened an investigation after bloodstained clothes were found in a garbage container on Wednesday. The clothes must have belonged to Bird and his partner Luke Davies (29).
He writes Sydney Morning Herald.
Credit cards, keys and a cell phone were also found in the dumpster. This discovery prompted police to visit Bird's home, where they found traces of blood and furniture that had been moved.
Neighbors told police they heard a loud argument from the porch Monday morning.
– He has not been seen since. The family tried to contact him, and he was not at work either, police said in a statement about Davis.
TV star dies
Police declare Byrd's house a crime scene and believe Davis' disappearance to be suspicious.
– Investigators are now trying to locate Baird, who they believe can help with many of the questions they have, says a police spokesman.
Bird worked for several years in Australian television, where he was a children's television presenter and red carpet correspondent. Davies works as a flight attendant for Qantas.
The airline said in a statement that it will provide support to employees who need it, and that its condolences go out to Davis' friends and family.
