John Travolta, 69, and Katherine Heigl, 44, clearly have enough chemistry to bring a blur to the big screen.
Nick Vallelonga, director of the duo’s upcoming musical romantic comedy “That’s Amore!” He boasted about the casting report on Wednesday in an interview with diverse.
“John and Katherine are great together, and during rehearsals, they had a lot of chemistry,” Vallelonga, 64, told the outlet.
“We don’t do big production numbers, but I wanted to try something a little different,” he continued. “We’ve recorded about seven songs so far with a full orchestra, and… [Travolta is] Just a magical person.”
The Post has contacted reps for Travolta and Heigl for comment.
Vallelonga added that he had always had Travolta in mind to play Nick in the film, a never-married man whose world changes when he meets Patty (Heigl).
“I worked with John on a George Gallo movie [The Poison Rose] “I was his understudy for a week on Staying Alive, so I’ve always been a big fan of his work,” Vallelonga explained. “He makes you happy when you see him on screen, and I have always dreamed of making this film with him.”
Christopher Walken, Talia Shire, William Fichtner, D.B. Sweeney, and Drea Di Matteo all round out the cast.
The film is yet to get a release date.
Heigl has been married to singer Josh Kelly since 2007. They have three children: daughters Naleigh, 13, and Adelaide, 11, and son Joshua, 6.
Travolta was married to Mis Chief star Kelly Preston from 1991 until her death from breast cancer in 2020.
They also had three children: Ella, 23, Benjamin, 12, and Jett, who died of an epileptic seizure in 2009 at the age of 16.
