When the Canadian-American singer takes the podium at the Las Vegas Music Awards on February 4, it will be a historic event.
Because even though Joni Mitchell has won nine Grammy Awards over the years and been nominated 18 times, this is the first time the “Queen of Blues” has been among the artists performing.
Mitchell did not comment on the mission herself, but on Sunday evening, Norwegian time, she posted this post on Instagram:
Mitchell is known for songs like “Both Sides Now,” “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Woodstock” and “A Case of You” also have a chance to win another statuette.
She was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category “Best Folk Album” with the release of “Joni Mitchell in Newport.” [Live]».
Others who will perform at the concert include Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Luke Cums, Burna Boy, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott and U2.
Norwegian chances of winning
The Grammy Awards are among the biggest awards ceremonies in the world, and the awards fly very high. Norway this year Represented in several categories.
Danish-Norwegian pop band Aqua are nominated in two categories for their song “Barbie World.”
In addition, Norwegian songwriter Caroline Ehlen (34) and producer Morten Lindberg (52) were nominated. As well as violinist Peter Herstal (53 years old) – in two categories.
Producer Helge Steen, 52, known by his stage name Deathprod, could also win.
