Roma and Jose Mourinho became the first-ever conference winners in history, despite two defeats to Bodo/Glimt on the road. Nicolo Zaniolo netted in the first round the final match against Feyenoord in Tirana.

The Portuguese coached Manchester United in 2016, but was fired in 2018. After that he was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer was sacked in November and failed to win the cup during his reign, despite reaching the 2021 Europa League final.
Mourinho made the following announcement after Wednesday’s victory:
As you know, I won European championships with four different clubs. I won with Manchester United, even though it was a team that lacked the quality United are known for. He said it was still normal to win with Manchester United, but winning the Champions League with Porto was not normal.
The 59-year-old won the Champions League with Inter Milan and Porto, the European League with Manchester United and the Conference League with Roma.
In total, he can point to 34 trophies in his 22 years as a manager.
