On Wednesday night, a Delta Air Lines plane was forced to circle in the air.
The plane, carrying 277 passengers, was en route from Detroit in the United States to Amsterdam when it turned around and was diverted.
Reports said the reason was that they served spoiled food to the passengers. CNN.
I waited on the ground
In a press release, the company's spokesperson said the following:
Delta Flight 136 from Detroit to Amsterdam was diverted to New York's JFK Airport early Wednesday morning after reports of damage to part of the economy class food service.
When the plane landed in New York, medical staff stood ready on the ground to treat any affected passengers or crew members.
– We're sorry
Delta Air Lines says it takes food safety seriously and is investigating the incident.
“This is not the service Delta is known for, and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay to their flights,” the spokesperson said.
The plane left New York on Wednesday afternoon and landed safely in Amsterdam 16 hours later than scheduled.
The flight was stopped due to explosive diarrhea.
Code brown
It's not always easy being Delta Air Lines. Last fall, Dagbladet reported that one of their flights was grounded due to severe diarrhea.
On Friday, September 1 of last year, Delta's eight-hour flight between Atlanta and Barcelona was canceled.
An hour into the flight, when the plane was over Richmond, Virginia, the captain decided to turn around.
In a clip circulating on X/Twitter, what is believed to be the flight commander could be heard saying the following to the control tower:
We have a passenger who had diarrhea throughout the flight.
After being cleaned and disinfected, the plane was able to take off from Atlanta again eight hours later.
