American Justin Timberlake (41 years old) has sold his entire catalog and is fully satisfied.
In other words, the pop music veteran of the past twenty years has changed its owner. Now, London-based Hipgnosis Song Management has partnered with Blackstone Inc. By securing the rights to everything the star made.
In total, there will be about 200 songs, including such hits as “Cry Me A River”, “Sexy Back” and “Mirrors”. The price? Nearly a billion crowns, writes The Wall Street Journal.
“I am delighted to partner with Hipgnosis founder and CEO Merck Mercuriadis,” Timberlake said in a statement.
He appreciates artists and their creative work – and has always been a strong supporter of songwriters and storytelling. “I look forward to this new chapter,” he says.
The pop artist, who is also an actor, is currently appearing in the new TV series “Candy” on the streaming service Hulu.
Timberlake follows in the footsteps of other artists such as Sting (70)And the Bruce Springsteen (72)And the Bob Dylan (81)and Shakira, 45, and Neil Young, 76, who have also sold the rights to their music catalogs.
