TV 2 press director Jan Peter Dahl confirms in an email to VG that Klomann showed symptoms of hypothermia during the “swimming and diving” exercise.
– Karen was immediately attended to by the commander and security officer when symptoms were discovered, and action was taken, he writes.
– It was also the Commander, in consultation with the doctor, who decided it was wise to allow Karen to continue.
He explains that production felt they had good control of the situation.
Fear of water
Kloman chose to continue participating after the accident:

During the press day preceding the recording of “Kompani Lauritzen”, Kloman told VG that she already had a difficult relationship with water, after an accident in Brazil several years ago.
-I'm afraid of water. I have a fear of water – real. Many years ago I had a wave accident in Brazil. I went up on a wave, then fell and landed with my head in the sand, tons of water on top of me.
I got scared
She said she broke part of her neck, lost consciousness in the water, and was hospitalized with a neck collar for three weeks in Brazil.
“And then I became very afraid of the water,” explains the 34-year-old – also known from TV series such as “The King Commands”, “Ida Tar Ansvar” and “Basic Bitch”.

Klomann said at the time that at Company Lauritzen it was less about the waves and more about the possibility of currents and cold currents.
