Kim Kardashian met with Kamala Harris at the White House

The reality star and law student met with Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday to discuss the cause of her heart: prison reform.

The meeting was held after President Joe Biden on Wednesday pardoned several people convicted of non-violent drug crimes in the United States.

Eleven people were pardoned in full, while five others received reduced sentences.

Four of those pardoned were present at Thursday's meeting between Kardashian and Harris, according to a White House official, Reuters reported.

After the meeting, she shared a selfie holding a peace sign in front of the White House, with the text:

– I can't wait to share all the details from today's New Opportunities event at the White House, followed by emojis.

It's no secret that prison reform is close to Kardashian's heart, who is currently studying to become a lawyer.

He will be supported by the elections

At the same time, Harris wants to persuade minority voters and young Americans to give Biden a chance for another four years in the White House.

It's not a coincidence that prison reform specifically is what Harris is discussing with Kardashian. Her background as a state prosecutor and prosecutor led to her being described as a “hardened senior police officer” that hung over her for a long time.

When she was San Francisco's district attorney, she bragged about tripling the number of criminals sent to state prisons. During her time as prosecutor, she failed to investigate several police shootings, which made her unpopular with black voters.

But since then, Harris has shown more signs of a change of heart, and has said she supports reforming the US prison system.

He contributed to many publications

For her part, Kardashian has been actively involved in the debate over criminal justice reform in recent years. Among other things, she met with Donald Trump repeatedly to discuss prison policy, both while he was president and since.

The reality TV star has also contributed to the release of many prisoners, and often highlights prisoner issues on her social media, where she has a large fan base.

Trump's openness to the idea of criminal justice reform, which led to the passage of the First Step Act in 2018, is partly attributable to Kardashian's involvement.

Prison reform was a rare example of bipartisan agreement during Trump's presidency, celebrated by even some of his harshest critics.
