Businessman Michael Knighton has confirmed that he plans to make an offer to buy Manchester United. At the same time, the current owners are slaughtered.
The 70-year-old was a former club manager and wants to take over the club from the American Glazer family. to me Manchester Evening News Knighton tried to buy the club in the 1980s, too.
Knighton does not hide his dissatisfaction with the current owners.

There has always been resentment towards the Glazers among Manchester United supporters. The protests against the owners reached their climax when large crowds of fans stormed Old Trafford ahead of the 2021 home game against Chelsea. It was the first time in the history of the Premier League that a match had been postponed due to protests.
According to the local newspaper, the Glazers are under pressure to sell the club. The owners are rarely on the field, but last weekend Avram Glazer showed his face at Old Trafford.
Manchester United is not officially for sale and Knighton confirms it is a “hostile offer”.
I intend to make a legitimate, strong and commercial bid to the owners and say: I’m out of the way, the time has come, says Knighton.
