Over the next few years, the cultural school will grow at 50 percent of the current offering, a total of 5,000 new venues, and many new exciting offerings, the culture agency reports.
You can now register for the fall course around the Sagene region, as well as a free summer camp in the neighboring region of Grünerløkka.
There should be a place for all children in the cultural school. No matter where you live in the city or who your parents are. In the next few years, we will expand the cultural school to include more and create more communities of culture, says cultural advisor Omar Sami Jamal.
There are many teaching opportunities in the Sagene area. For children and young adults who love to dance, there are a number of dance courses at Sagene Samfunnshus and Fernanda Nissen School. There is also musical theater for children and young adults at Sagene School, violin lessons at North Pole School, as well as instrumental lessons through the orchestras and bodies in the area.
Shows in the neighborhood
In the fall of 2023, a brand new cultural station will open in Voldsløkka. This will serve as the home of the local culture in the area. With that, Sagene will have a broader cultural school offering in dance, music, theater and the visual arts.
summer camp
There are also many shows not too far outside our area.
For example, at the cultural school there is a free art camp for children aged 9-12 at the Schous cultural station in the Grünerløkka district. Here you will find courses in many different dance styles, musical theatre, imbro theatre, and courses in computer games, 3D graphics, and animation. You can read more about it at Cultural School website.
