(Elbil24): Toyota is currently with what most people think is the first electric car of the modern era, the SUV bZ4X. What most people forget is that Toyota’s premium brand Lexus has had the UX 300e compact crossover on Norwegian roads for nearly two years.
good shots
However, the car had only limited success in Norway, despite the good price tag and good results in many tests – including here at Elbil24. In total, just under 1,300 forms were registered in these two years, according to elbilstatistikk.no.
When we pushed her in Duel against Citroën ë-C4, we hit a level five on the dice, and boasted, among other things, of good excellent feel, low noise and good performance. At the same time, we had two important points of appeal, the most important of which was the limited range.

However, Lexus has now decided to upgrade the car’s battery pack from 54.3 kWh to 72.8 kWh. This simultaneously increases WLTP’s range from 315 kilometers to 450 kilometers – putting the UX 300e on perfect par with some of the class’s more popular competitors, such as the Mercedes-Benz EQA and BMW iX1.
The car will also get better noise isolation as well as many small improvements that will ensure an improved driving experience. The infotainment and audio system will also be updated.

Charging is still slow
What could be a catch, however, is that the car will continue to use the Chademo charging standard, as nearly everyone else now uses CCS. It limits charging power to a maximum of 50 kW, while a number of new charging stations no longer support this standard.
For home charging, the speed is also limited to 6.6 kW, with many now stopping at just 11 kW (on 400V systems).
Other benefits will be the same as before. This includes, among other things, a front-wheel electric motor with a power of 204 hp and a torque of 300 Nm. The maximum speed is 160 km per hour, and 0-100 is done in 7.5 seconds. See the table below for more details.

At the moment, prices are unclear for the upgraded versions, but according to Toyota, they will be somewhat higher than they are today. Elbil24 will provide more information once more is known.
