Liverpool FC, Jurgen Klopp | Klopp on the injury crisis: – We need a little luck

Kostas Tsimikas suffered a broken collarbone during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, leaving the Merseyside club with few options at left-back.

First choice Andy Robertson has also been sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Gomez, who plays on his right foot, is likely to occupy the left-back position until Robertson returns.

– It is clear that it is very difficult for us. “You get injuries every now and then and we accept them all, but a broken collarbone is very bad because it takes a long time,” coach Jurgen Klopp said ahead of Tuesday's match against Burnley.

– Liverpool need a little luck to get through this, and now we want Joey (Gomez) there. He continued: We just have to wrap him in bubble wrap and make sure he is ready for the matches.

Second-placed Liverpool faces Burnley, which Klopp believes is better than the results indicate.

The German said: – I have watched a fair number of Burnley matches and I am very impressed with what they are doing.

Liverpool are also without Alexis McAllister, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara due to injury.

Tuesday's away match against Burnley starts at 18.30 Norwegian time.
